9th Annual Fund a Cure Gala

About the Gala

The 9th annual JDRF Fund A Cure Gala is set to take place on Saturday, April 21st, beginning at 6 pm, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Columbus.  Donning a theme right out of the pages of Dr. Seuss, “Oh, the Places We’ll Go!” will transport patrons to a magical night of fundraising and entertainment.

During the evening, the Mid-Ohio Chapter will honor Columbus’ own Children’s Hospital for their significant efforts in improving the lives of children in our community.  One of the highlights of the evening also includes Keynote Speaker Yvette McGee Brown, President of The Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Columbus Children’s Hospital. 

Emceed by WBNS-10TV’s Angela An and Heather Pick, the event  kicks off with a cocktail reception and will also feature a number of live entertainers, guest speaker appearances, and a fabulous live auction.  Some of this year’s live auction items include a BBQ party for 75 people sponsored by City Barbeque (and featuring a live band), a “Beat Michigan Party” at the Buckeye Hall Of Fame Café, Corazon Club & Spa golf packages, dinner for 8 persons at “M,” a “behind the scenes” tour at Ohio Stadium, and place settings created and decorated by children with type 1 Diabetes. 

“We think this year’s event will be our best ever,” said Mid-Ohio Board President, Doug Stephens.  “The Dr. Seuss theme, combined with this elegant, sophisticated, fun night complete with dinner, live entertainment and a silent, super silent and live auction, will certainly help us reach our goal of $415,000.”
